You can get short help texts right in the window for many items when you either:

• Rightclick on an item and then click on the "What's this?" that comes up,
• Click on the "[?]" in the menu of the main form and click on the item you are interested in,
• Select an item and press F1,
• Click on the question mark on top of many of the windows (but not the main form) and then click on the item you are interested in.
