Import a Key

Of course, you need someone to send you his or her key. That would be a person to whom you want to send encrypted messages.

Next you do:

1. Open Import Key form

Main Form: Key Management | Import Key
Welcome Page: "Import Another Person's Key"

2. A form opens:

A. Click if the to be imported key comes in a key or a file. Click Next

B. Import the key. If it is a file, you can drag-drop, copy-paste, or load the file the conventional way.

C. Your are guided through a sequence:

a) Do you want to import the key? (Say yes.)

b) Signing (optional): Do you want to sign the key?

(If you are 100% sure that the key comes from the person you think it comes from, say yes. Otherwise don't and give the person a call later, asking if they sent you a key today.) If you sign, you will be asked for the passphrase of your key. Give it.

c) Send back (optional): You can send you own right back to the sender of the imported key.

Done: You have successfully imported (a) key(s).

Alternative: To start you drag-drop or copy-paste the key file into the Landing Pad of the main form.
