Show Properties of Own Key


Purpose:


Lets you see the properties of your key. Important: The fingerprint, a unique identifier. To find out if a key that looks like yours, but is maybe not (anybody can make a key that has your name and e-mail address on it), actually *is* yours, compare the fingerprints: If they are the same, it is the same key.


Steps:


  1. Main Menu | Key Management | More With Own Key... | Show Properties of Own Key.
  2. If you have more than one own key, the program asks you which one you want to work on.
  3. The Properties screen opens. Click Back to exit the screen.
